Wuxia Novelist: A Writer's Blog

Wuxia Novelist: A Writer's Blog looks at the broad range of issues encountered by me as a novelist working in the Chinese wuxia (heroic fiction) genre. I have, however, a very broad background and this blog will not narrowly focus on one genre of literature, rather I will consider books, movies, and ideas that relate to my life as a writer. New Pricing & New Connection!

Hello! Spring is finally here. I’ve been out on the bike a number of times even though there is still a chill in the air – I don’t have the proper cold weather gear, so I have to be “selective” about my riding temperatures; okay, I’m a wimp when it comes to the cold.

But there is some good news to warm everyone pocketbook - my wonderful publisher, Pleasure Boat Studio, has lowered the price on my novel, Dream of the Dragon Pool – A Daoist Quest. So now you can have more fun for less money! So far his site, www.pleasureboatstudio.com , and Amazon both reflect the new $13.95 US price. Hope this helps.

As for the new connection, Nan Hawthorne runs a REALLY beautiful website, Medieval-Novels, for fiction dealing with the medieval period of any country. She has kindly included Dream of the Dragon Pool on her China page, which you can find here: http://www.medieval-novels.com/locations/china.htm . Do check out the rest of the website and Nan’s blog. Good stuff! Thanks, Nan!

I’ll have some big news coming at the beginning of next month regarding future projects and my writing career, but announcements will have to wait till then.

And how about that Battlestar Galactica ending!!!! Amazing stuff! Can our wuxia genre match it and go beyond? There’s a lot in the medieval Chinese tradition that has yet to be explored - we’ll see.

Zaijian!
